Orosei
is located on the east side of Sardegna/Sardinia about 3 miles
from the sea. It sits on a volcanic hill…the town sits
amidst orchards, olive groves, gardens and island vegetation
— it is very beautiful. The town is small and charming
— whitewashed, friendly with twisting streets….all
roads lead to Piazza del Popolo. There are 3 churches
in the piazza: San Giacomo Maggiore (17th
century) has an ornate interior and a lovely façade;
Chiesa del Rosario and Chiesa delle Anime are also
lovely and should be toured. Tuesday and Friday are market
days in Orosei.
