Gavoi is a mountain village/hill town (Barbagia hills) on a lake (Lago di Gusana). The main square in town is the Piazza San Gavino. The 14^th century Chiesa di San Gavino with its pink façade is located here. Make sure you note the Baroque pulpit and gothic tower/campanile at the church. Also see the Chiesa di Sant’Antioco (15^th century) and the Chiesa di San Giovanni. The old town is filled with twisting streets, red stone, balconies with floral bowers and total traditional charm. The Gavoi Museo Jocos (worth a visit) has costumes, musical instruments and traditional furnishings of the area through history. Market day is Wednesday in Gavoi.
