Rating system:
In Italy, hotels receive a ranking from 1 to 5 depending on the level of service, amenities offered and comfort. A 5 star hotel is very plush and a 1 star hotel is very basic. Farms and other unique establishments are often not rated. Read the descriptions here, visit the hotel's website and you'll never be disappointed.

CA D’ANDREAN — Via A. Discovolo 101 — Manarola 19010 — ph: 0187920040 fx: 0187920452 - www.cadandrean.it - email: cadandrean@libero.it

There are 10 rooms at this small family run 3 star hotel (the Rollandi family). The hotel is just a few minutes from the seaside. Five of the rooms have a terrace and most of the rooms have a view. The rooms are simple, clean and inexpensive. There is a garden with tables and chairs (views) to relax and enjoy yourself. There’s a sitting room with a fireplace and a bar (for hotel guests only).

MARINA PICCOLA — Via Discovolo 192 — ph: 0187920103 fx: 0187920966 — www.hotelmarinapiccola.com - email: info@hotelmarinapiccola.com

There are 6 rooms at this 3 star inn at the seaside — it’s located in a central position on the sea and port. The rooms offer bath/shower, phone and good views. The restaurant offers panoramic views and fine food like zuppa di datteri, antipasti di mare, pesce di scoglio and grigliata miste. There’s a bar too. This is a good place to stay.

LA TORRETTA — Piazza della Chiesa — Vico Volta 20-14 - Manarola 19010— ph/fx: 0187920327 — www.cinqueterre.net/torretta/ - email: torretta@cdh.it

This is a family run hotel/bed and breakfast (3 star) inside an ancient building (tower obvious) from the 1600s. La Torretta is owned and run by Gabriele Baldini who is a designer (and she’s renewed the house and terrace). The rooms are simple, clean and nice. Each room has a bath, TV, and sea view (some rooms have terraces). Ms. Baldini (she’s so nice) also rents apartments with kitchens, views and terraces (all you’d need to stay for a week or more). The front reception has a solarium with a seaview. Breakfast, which is good, is served (in good weather) in the lemon garden (again another place to enjoy the views)! There are also public terraces to sun, relax and dine on. There’s a bar — enjoy one of the local wines on the terrace as the sun sets over the sea.
